This site will describe why I like golf, and why it is a great sport.
One of my favorite sports to play is golf. Golf is a sport that anyone can play with some practice.
Golf is a great sport to play becuase it requires dedication, practice, and time. If a person wants to play golf they
must practice!!! Before anyone can actually play on a course most people will go to a driving range and actually learn how
to hit the ball correctly. Learning on a golf course can be a frustrating and expensive mistake.
Golf is also a great sport to play because it can be played with friends and family. Also many golf courses are located
in very scenic and beautifull locations. With groups from either 1 to 4 golf can be not only a single person sports but also
a team sport. I have met many cool people on the golf course and have made many friends. Golf is known as the "gentalmens
game" because golf is played with manors but that doesnt mean it isint fun. Some of the rules that are important and
are examples are: whoever has the best score on the previous hole gets to start the hole first. Another would be, when putting
the person furthest from the pin puts first. These are some of the examples on why golf is considered a gentalmens game.
Many people dont play due to the expensive costs. Golf does not have to be expensive if you want it to be. Many courses
here in San Antonio range from $10.00 per person to $175.00 per person. Clubs can range from $200.00 for a entire set to $4,500.00
for a set. Obviously the club prices are dependent on the company that made them or materials that they are made with. But
I have seen many good sets of clubs that were very affordable. Also many golf courses offer something called "starlight
golf", which is if you schedule a tee time after 2:00 pm the golf price will be much less then if you were to make a
tee time in the morning when golf courses are most crowded.
Finally, golf is my sport because it is a mental and physical game. Being able to stay focused on what you need to do
is why i like it. Being able to play with family and friends is also a key factor. But the main reason I enjoy playing is
the courses. One of the coolest things about golf is the locations. My all-time favorite place I was fortunate enough to
be able to play was in Hawaii!!! That course was the most spectacular course ive ever played. Every hole looked out over
the water and the course itself was on a mountain!!
So if you ever get a chance to have the opertunity to play dont hesitate, just do it!!
